Graduate OutcomesGraduate Outcomes Survey

What is the Graduate Outcomes Survey?

The Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) is a national survey capturing information about the perspectives and activities of graduates 15 months after you complete your studies. Graduate Outcomes has replaced the previous Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey (DLHE).

This survey is conducted on behalf of the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), and involves an online or telephone questionnaire which will ask whether you are working, studying, travelling or undertaking another activity. It will also ask how your degree helped prepare you for your current role.

Why does the survey matter?

As a SAS graduate, your response to this survey is very important, as it will:

  • Help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development
  • Contribute to the positioning of SAS and UoL in league tables
  • Empower higher education providers, policy makers, charities, journalists, researchers and others, to understand the higher education sector and current trends within the graduate jobs market

How and when will I be contacted?

As someone who completed their studies after 1 November 2017, you will be amongst the group asked to participate in the Graduate Outcomes Survey later this year.

You will receive an email approximately 15 months after completing your studies, inviting you to complete the survey online. You may also be contacted by telephone and asked to complete the survey over the phone.

What do I need to do now?

The survey doesn’t start until March 2019, so there is nothing that you need to do at this moment. However, we ask you to keep all your contact details updated to receive further communications about the survey and ensure that HESA can get in touch with you later in the year.
