University of London hosts Speed Learning Professional Skills, a professional development event for alumni in Singapore

On 3 April 2018, the University held Speed Learning Professional Skills, a professional development event organised in collaboration the University of London Alumni Singapore. Held at the new offices of the ACCA (the University’s partner in delivering the MSc in Professional Accountancy), the event welcomed 40 recent alumni who had the chance to take part in 'speed learning' sessions designed to develop their professional skills.

Following a welcome from Holly Peterson, Head of Constituency Engagement at the University of London and Wong Boon Pin, panellist and Vice-President of the University of London Alumni Singapore, guests were divided into three groups, allowing the opportunity for guests to interact and ask questions of the panellists.

The sessions focussed on; how to network at professional events; using social media for career advancement; and developing your CV to highlight standout skills. We were delighted that four of the panellists were University of London alumni, including two entrepreneurs, a founding member of a PR firm, and a leading HR professional at a Fortune 2000 company.

The sessions were followed by an opportunity to put skills learnt into practise, as alumni were invited to network with the panellists and each other, and find out more about how to stay connected with the University of London after graduating.

The University looks forward to returning to Singapore in October 2018 to host events for our alumni, friends and supporters. If you are a University of London graduate, please register or update your contact details to ensure that you receive your invitation.
